Zlatan Ibrahimovic was furious after PSG’s 3-2 loss to Bordeaux, in which he scored both of his side’s goals. After walking off the pitch with his teammates, Zlatan shouted at a match official and said, “Played 15 years, never seen refereeing this shit country. Don’t even deserve PSG in this country.”
The rant was something you might expect to hear from a tiny young human, which is funny since Zlatan labeled Chelsea’s players “babies” for their own dealings with referees just days earlier.
Anyway, it’s safe to assume that by saying that France doesn’t deserve PSG, Zlatan is declaring his intention to move the club to the capital of Zlatanistan once he conquers half of Europe and starts his own country.
UPDATE: Zlatan was quick to apologize for his comments. From PSG’s official website:
Zlatan Ibrahimovic: “I want to clarify that my words tonight were not directed against France or French people. I was speaking purely in terms of football. I lost the game, I accept that, but I can’t accept it when the referee doesn’t follow the rules. It is not the first time and I’m tired of it. I would like to apologise if anybody was offended or interpreted my words the wrong way.”
He says “in this shit country” quite clearly, I’ve seen it everywhere.
I’ve listened to it a bunch and every time it sounds like “never seen refereeing this shit country.” There doesn’t seem to be a pause or an “in” right there.
