Claudio Ranieri has gone from being someone many people thought would be the first Premier League manager sacked this season to inspiring his team to an improbable, pizza inspired title run in his first year on the job. And now he has the greatest nickname in the game.
Jose Mourinho is “The Special One.” Jurgen Klopp is “The Normal One.” And now, Claudio Ranieri, formerly known as “The Tinkerman,” is “The Sausageman” thanks to the work of a local butcher who recently debuted a Ranieri sausage made with “fennel, garlic, chilli [sic] and a hint of Champions League!”
When asked about this development at his Friday press conference, Ranieri gave himself this new title.
Claudio Ranieri aka “the Sausageman” has a sausage named after him….yes really.
