Stoke beat Arsenal 3-2. This isn’t terribly surprising. Neither is the fact that Charlie Adam attempted to choke the life out of Alexis Sanchez in the 84th minute as Arsenal attempted to complete a comeback after being reduced to 10 men. What is surprising is that he was only shown a yellow card for the wrestling move.

So what was Charlie Adam doing? Maybe he thought Sanchez was choking and he was trying to administer the Heimlich maneuver. Maybe he thought that Sanchez needed a rest at that exact moment and wanted to help him go to sleep as quickly as possible. Or maybe he just has the social graces of Frankenstein’s monster and destroys everything in front of him.
