Since Santa Claus has to work on Jesus’ birthday, he decided to take him to the Liverpool-Arsenal match on Sunday. And since Jesus is apparently Brendan Rodgers’ biggest fan for some odd reason, he brought his “Brendan I’ve got your back!” sign to the game.
This proved to be true.
Fabio Borini, who entered the match in the 74th minute with Liverpool down 2-1, decided that playing to the final whistle was simply too much to ask of him. So he got himself booked twice within the first two minutes of added time. Jesus and Santa saw this as their opportunity to give Brendan his Christmas gift a bit early.
Despite being down to 10 men, Liverpool found an unlikely equalizer from an unlikely source when Martin Skrtel scored in the seventh minute of injury time with the bandaged head that was reason for all that injury time in the first place.
Needless to say, Brendan was happy…
And so was Scouse Jesus…
And that’s how Arsene Wenger decided to become the Grinch who stole Christmas. The end.
Good to read your irreverent posts again Brooks. Keep up the good work.
