After getting thumped by Wolfsburg in their first game back from the winter break, Bayern Munich faced another test against Schalke when Jerome Boateng was sent off in just the 17th minute. Despite this disadvantage, Bayern still managed to score first, prompting Pep Guardiola, who decided to wear a blanket around his neck for some reason, to hug the fourth official.
As you can see, the official kind of accepted this show of affection before realizing what was happening and gently pushing Guardiola away. Pep’s joy was short lived, however, as Benedikt Howedes equalized for Schalke just five minutes after Arjen Robben’s opening goal in the 67th minute. The match ended 1-1, which means Roberto Di Matteo is still his kryptonite.
Pep Guardiola still hasn’t defeated Roberto Di Matteo. He’s drawn twice and lost once. — Bavarian Tweets (@BavarianTweets) February 3, 2015
If that doesn’t deserve a dismissive scarf toss, Pep Guardiola doesn’t know what does.
