The Ivory Coast have won the African Cup of Nations title 23 years after winning it for the first time with a penalty from goalkeeper Boubacar Barry (a.k.a. Copa Barry) serving as the shootout decider. A shootout that Gervinho, who was subbed off just before it began, couldn’t bring himself to watch.

Barry, who you might remember from his grass eating intensity during the World Cup in Brazil, saved Ghana keeper Brimah Razak’s shot. He then stepped up and scored his own to give the Ivory Coast a 9-8 shootout win after a tedious 120 minutes of scoreless football. Once it was over, Ivory Coast manager Herve Renard, who now has two AFCON winner’s medals after first claiming the title in 2012 with Zambia, did his best to try and console absolutely shattered Ghana midfielder Andre Ayew.

Then Renard decided to take his shirt off just because he looks like this…

Meanwhile, the family of former Ivory Coast captain Didier Drogba celebrated the win like every other fan of the team.
And finally, if you’ve ever wondered why Ghana coach Avram Grant always looks so morose, this might have something to do with it…
