Just in case you weren’t convinced that Luis Suarez is completely devoid of the ability to take responsibility for his own actions, his latest comments on his bite victims should clear that up. According to Suarez, Branislav Ivanovic and Giorgio Chiellini deserve blame for being bitten by him since they were annoying. Victim blaming ahoy!
Suarez told Cadena Cope (via Football Italia):
“Some of the blame in the past was mine, some of it must go to the defenders who provoked me.
“Chiellini and [Branislav] Ivanovic, for example, are two that wind you up again, and again, and again.
“They are irritating, but now what happens is that I provoke the defenders. Before I’d engage in a battle with them, now I walk away.”
So if you’re a defender who annoys Luis Suarez (also known as doing your job), you deserve to get bit like an animal. With that kind of mindset, it’s only a matter of time before he stops walking away and does it for the fourth time. And if being annoying is justification enough to bite someone, he just might start doing it at the theater, in restaurants, or in shops with pushy salespeople.
Irritating. . . Or delicious?
