Gerard Pique shows his shirt collection, John Terry shows his trophies

This is apparently “Look At All The Cool Stuff I Have!” Week for professional footballers on social media. It started with Gerard Pique showing a portion of his shirt collection while cleaning out his closet. The first group of neatly arranged shirts showed that Pique has an eye for the superstars when swapping shirts after matches, as it contained the likes of Francesco Totti, David Beckham, and Ronaldinho.

He then shared a picture of shirts he collected during the 2010 World Cup that he won with Spain (he presumably burned every shirt he collected during Spain’s nightmarish 2014 World Cup, along with every other reminder of that trip).

And then he wrapped up his show and tell session with a shirt from former teammate Carles Puyol.

John Terry, meanwhile, celebrated one million Instagram followers by showing off his trophy haul, which includes four Premier League titles (even though the fourth hasn’t been awarded yet…photoshop?), a Champions League title, a Europa League title (which also looks photoshopped into his foyer), five FA Cups, three League Cups, and a PFA Player of the Year award.

As impressive as all of this is, Lionel Messi has both players’ collections beat in terms of quantity as his brother showed in this picture from 2013…

Anyway, the lesson here is that world class footballers still carefully lay out their most prized possessions like little kids when their friends come over to play, and that’s kind of endearing.
