Reporters assembled for Iker Casillas’ final press conference as a Real Madrid player applauded him when the tears of leaving his home for the last 25 years came as soon as he began to speak.
Casillas’ move to Porto was announced on Saturday, bringing an end to his time at Real Madrid, which began in 1990 at the age of nine. He’s been with the first team since 1999, making 725 appearances and winning La Liga five times, the Copa del Rey twice, and the Champions League three times.
The goalkeeper posted his farewell address on his social medial accounts, along with a video with highlights from his time with the only club he’s ever known, which concludes with a “thank you.”

After all that, I would have canceled the Porto deal and given him a 25-year contract extension if I were Real Madrid president. Because there is nothing sadder than a sad Iker Casillas.
This shows what a no-class culture there is at RM. Xavi was given a lion’s send-off and Casilla gives a presser with no-one from RM there. Sad, sad, sad.
