Kolo Toure has admitted that he is not fond of animals — not even his own dog. As he says in the video above, he’s had a dog for seven years and has never even touched him.
This fear was tested on Liverpool’s Australian tour, when several players were given the chance to meet some koalas. And Kolo was one of them. From the Liverpool Echo:
Much to the amusement of Mamadou Sakho, the experienced Ivorian defender made a run for it rather than accept the chance to have a hold, telling staff: “I’m sorry but I can’t do it.”
Sadly, there doesn’t seem to be video of this incident. There are some pictures of Sakho and Sheyi Ojo with their koala buddies, though. (And with Kolo nowhere to be found.)
So Liverpool’s opponents now know how to get past Kolo Toure. Just bring out his own dog.
Koalas are dangerous animals. These two were clearly drugged before the photo shoot.
