Postponed by 24 hours due to torrential rain, Argentina and Brazil played their World Cup qualifier on Friday night and David Luiz left his mark both on the game and the appendages of his opponents.
Luiz was sent off after a nasty stomp on Lucas Biglia in the 88th minute of the 1-1 draw.
Now, David Luiz does these things just because he’s David Luiz and he does these things, but his aggression throughout the match might have also been retaliation against a rival nation that was eager to remind Brazil of their 7-1 loss to Germany at last year’s World Cup.
Then again, that would involve far more calculation than David Luiz is accustomed to.
