From growing a beard to scoring goals to playing air guitar, Xabi Alonso does everything with style.

On the pitch, he demonstrated this by scoring his first goal of the season with a thumping volley from distance to give Bayern a 1-0 win over Darmstadt in the DFB Pokal. And if you thought it might’ve been a lucky strike, well, Xabi has news for you.

“There was zero per cent luck,” Alonso said after opening his account for the season in the most spectacular style. “I knew that I had hit it well. It was a beautiful goal, and a very important one for us.”

Clearly full of confidence, Xabi did something else daring the next day, taking the stage at Bayern’s charity circus gala to demonstrate his air guitar skills.

He even did a broom solo.
