It’s rare that a manager gets injured during a training session, but that’s what happened to Ajax boss Frank De Boer during a game of a foot tennis. And it was a bad one too — he tore his achilles tendon, which will require surgery.
De Boer had to be taken away on a stretcher, leaving his assistant, Dennis Bergkamp, to take charge of the remainder of the session. De Boer later shared his feelings on the matter.
