Cristiano Ronaldo bulks up, wears disguise to surprise young fan on streets of Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo disguised himself in a wig, fake mustache and some padding under his sweatshirt in order to surprise a young fan (and a few older ones) in Madrid. It’s unclear if he did this for a commercial or TV show or just to keep his mind off his recent breakup, but he quickly drew a crowd and seemed pleased with the reaction he got.

So the next time you see a chubby, mustachioed man with a football walking around the Spanish capital, just assume that it’s Cristiano Ronaldo.

Sergio Ramos cements his long-standing love of Michael Jackson with an arm tattoo

A photo posted by Sergio Ramos (@sr4oficial) on

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos already has a tattoo of the World Cup trophy on one leg and the Champions League trophy on the other, so the next logical step was, of course, to get a Michael Jackson tattoo on his arm. And so he has now done just that. Read more

Marco Reus autographs a Real Madrid shirt, which basically means they own his soul forever

Following reports that Borussia Dortmund midfielder Marco Reus has agreed to personal terms with Real Madrid ahead of a potential transfer, the player’s agent said all of it was “blatant nonsense.” But now Reus has autographed a Real Madrid shirt after playing a friendly against Steaua Bucharest in Alicante, Spain, and as the ink seeped into the cloth, so did the club into the very essence of his being.

He might continue to play for Dortmund, but now he belongs to Madrid in the two most important places: the gossip columns and that random dude’s shirt.

Leo Messi says he has “no intention” of leaving Barcelona, ruins everything for rumor merchants

First, Barcelona had to go and disrupt the storyline of “Barca are over (for real this time!)” by beating Atletico 3-1 with goals from Neymar, Lionel Messi AND Luis Suarez. Then, after the match, Messi ruined the most pervasive story of the January transfer window by going on Barca TV and stating unequivocally that everything printed about him simultaneously trying to leave the club and run it as an iron-fisted dictator is total bullshit.

Ball boy celebrates Atletico goal in Madrid derby by jumping into Diego Simeone’s arms

Atletico Madrid broke the scoreless deadlock from the penalty spot in 58th minute of the first leg of their Copa del Rey tie against Real Madrid (thanks to the blatant foul stylings of Sergio Ramos). One ball boy at the Vicente Calderon celebrated the goal by jumping into the arms of Atletico manager Diego Simeone. Because when you get Fernando Torres back and take a lead against Real Madrid in the same week, hugs are going to happen.

The ball boy wasn’t just some random kid, though. It was Giuliano Simeone — Diego’s son. They did the same celebration last week against Levante and again when Atletico scored a second goal against Real in the 76th minute.

Anyway, this also proves that Jose Mourinho’s theory about the ball boys being against Chelsea is true. Somehow.

David Moyes politely sticks it to everyone after beating Barcelona

David Moyes, a once widely respected football manager who unwittingly signed up to become a clown pinata when he took charge of Manchester United, claimed a sliver of redemption with relegation threatened Spanish side Real Sociedad by beating Barcelona 1-0. He even managed to get Barca to score the match’s only goal against themselves (Jordi Alba in the second minute).

As the world sang his praises for the first time in a long while, Moyes was rightly feeling pretty wonderful after the match. But being the good sport that he is, he still took the time to shake hands with several key Barcelona players. Here’s what he said as he did so…

This behind the scenes video of Fernando Torres’ Atletico unveiling is adorable

Following a great reception at the airport earlier in the week, more than 40,000 people turned up at the Vicente Calderon on Sunday to officially welcome Fernando Torres back to the club where his career began. The video above shows some of the emotions of the day. The hugs, the joy, the familial warmth, and the importance of not putting your hands in your mouth.
