Cristiano Ronaldo’s son is obsessed with Lionel Messi
For years now, the supposed rivalry between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi has seemed like nothing more than media and fan speculation. A product of excessive scrutiny on the two best players in the world, who don’t have a particularly warm relationship and happen to play for rival clubs. But this year it became personal.
Luis Suarez bought Lionel Messi dwarf pajamas
Lionel Messi posted on Instagram to thank teammate Luis Suarez for sending him a gift, which apparently was a pair of pajamas that read “I hate mornings” and feature Grumpy from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. We can’t be sure why Suarez did this (even Messi himself writes that he doesn’t quite understand), other than the fact that it’s perfect and wonderful.
This almost makes the international break worthwhile. OK, no it doesn’t.
Italy scorer consoles Georgia keeper after 6-1 win in Women’s Euro qualifer
Georgia jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in just the third minute of their Euro 2017 qualifier against Italy, but then reality took hold and Italy went on to win 6-1.
The result was apparently too much for Georgia goalkeeper Tamar Nadirashvili, who dropped to her knees in tears when the final whistle blew.
Celtic sent season ticket holders a letter about the importance of personal hygiene
It’s been a relatively nervy start to the season for Celtic. After winning four consecutive Scottish Premier League titles, the Bhoys currently sit five points behind perfect Aberdeen through seven matches. Naturally, this unfamiliar wasteland known as “Second Place” has everyone at the club sweating a little and that has apparently produced an unwanted odor around the main stand at Celtic Park.
Uruguayan player throws himself off stretcher in attempt to waste more time
After winning the first leg of their Copa Sudamericana first-stage tie 4-1, Uruguayan club Juventud found themselves in a bit of trouble during the second leg when Real Potosi scored twice to make the aggregate score 4-3. Realizing the danger here, Juventud’s Matias Alonso did the only thing in his power as a footballer to try and preserve the lead: he faked an injury.
Claiming to have a cramp, Alonso drew the ire of his opponents as the medical cart came out so he could be loaded onto a stretcher and driven away in the 78th minute. But the medics were too good at their job. Alonso still wanted to waste more time, but they had already loaded him onto the stretcher and were mere seconds away from removing him from the pitch. He had to think fast. So as they lifted him up on the stretcher, he showed his desperation and commitment to the cause by purposefully falling off it.
This proved to be just a momentary setback, though. And Alonso was then taken away, hopefully to be dumped into the sea.
Juventud did hold on and will face Emelec in the second stage.
A look inside Xabi Alonso and Thiago’s German lessons
Xabi Alonso and Thiago have both been with Bayern Munich for a while now and as the video above shows, their ability to speak German is coming along nicely.
In this lesson, we learn why Xabi’s shots are so powerful, that he knows a thing or two about Oktoberfest, and that if this video was about Carlos Tevez’s attempts to learn English, it would just be five minutes of an empty chair and a disappointed teacher.
In conclusion, Xabi Alonso is very handsome.

Didier Drogba arrived in Montreal to begin work with the Impact and good lord are the locals excited to have him. Though Drogba is no stranger to massive airport welcome parties, he was still impressed with the one he received in Montreal — so much so that he even recorded it himself.
Leo Messi and his son are training for the season together
Lionel Messi has been absent from Barcelona’s preseason tour of the U.S. after a disappointing run in Copa America, but he isn’t just sitting around playing building Lego pirate ships all day. He’s still training and he’s found a partner to do it with him — his son Thiago.
