Dear Gonzalo,
Hi. It’s Leo (Messi). How are you? I am fine.
A canine pitch invader interrupted a match between Union Santa Fe and Temperley in Argentina, delighting the television commentators so much that they began to bark like dogs.
The dog ran around a bit before one player subdued it with belly tickles and held it until an opponent awkwardly carried it off the pitch and handed it to an official.
Postponed by 24 hours due to torrential rain, Argentina and Brazil played their World Cup qualifier on Friday night and David Luiz left his mark both on the game and the appendages of his opponents.
Luiz was sent off after a nasty stomp on Lucas Biglia in the 88th minute of the 1-1 draw.
Carlos Tevez took a heavy challenge from Gustavo Gomez late in Boca Juniors’ Copa Argentina match at Lanus. Tevez scored Boca’s first goal in what would be a 2-0 win and in the 80th minute, Gomez made him pay for it with this tackle from behind, earning himself a red card and giving Tevez a free trip to the moon.
Though his leg generated enough wind power to fuel all of Buenos Aires for the rest of the night, Tevez was able to finish out the match.

Usually when rival fans throw objects at players, it’s potentially dangerous, but in one Argentina Primera Division match, it was delicious and/or gross. A disgruntled Racing supporter threw a cheeseburger in the direction of Belgrano goalkeeper Juan Olave during Sunday’s match between the two sides. But instead of complaining or tossing the meat missile aside, he picked it up and took a bite.
After the initial bite, Olave gestured as if to thank the crowd for the mid-game snack, then he took another bite before placing the mangled burger beside the goal post.
The match ended 0-0 and Olave is almost certainly dead from food poisoning right now.
Pablo Martel, manager of Union de Santiago, decided to take matters into his own feet during a match against Comercio in the Argentine fourth division after a hard foul on one of his players. The referee let play continue, though, and as the Comercio player dribbled down the touchline, Martel came out of his technical area and kicked his legs out from under him.
This led to a standoff between the two managers and the police had to intervene, but cooler heads prevailed. But the referee did act this time, sending Martel off for his vigilantism.

Inspired by the return of Carlos Tevez, Boca Juniors beat Quilmes 2-1. Jonathan Calleri scored the decisive goal in the 53rd minute and it was a special one.
Carlos Tevez was unveiled before a huge crowd at La Bombonera as he made his return to his first club, Boca Juniors. In the 11 years since Tevez left he has played in Brazil, England, and Italy, and developed a reputation for an unwillingness to learn the local languages along the way (which resulted in him ignoring letters from the police). But now that Tevez is back to plying his trade in Argentina, he doesn’t have to worry about that anymore and he couldn’t be happier.
On July 13, 2014, Mario Götze scored Germany’s goal to beat Argentina in extra time of the World Cup final. A year on from that spectacular finish, Götze has recorded himself lip syncing to the German commentary for that moment.
A goalkeeper in an Argentina third division match simplified this whole business of football by throwing the ball into his own net. I mean, why bother with all the back and forth and anticipation when you can just get right to the point?
His team went on to lose 5-0, because once this happens, there just isn’t a point in trying anymore.
