Arsenal recovered from losing to Dinamo Zagreb and Olympiacos in their first two Champions League group stage matches to end Bayern Munich’s undefeated run with a 2-0 win. This type of careening back and forth between the disastrous and the brilliant has become something of a trademark for Arsenal in the Champions League, but this win has sparked renewed belief in what the club can accomplish, while denting the perception of Bayern’s overwhelming power. Naturally, we must now ask, “What if it continued?”

Jose Mourinho uses Wenger’s words to criticize referee and prove a point
“The referee was weak and naive!” @ChelseaFC boss Mourinho’s stern assessment of the officials tonight. #UCL https://t.co/CqEM1QAGSE

Chelsea had to settle for a 0-0 draw with Dynamo Kiev in part because Cesc Fabregas had a penalty shout ignored by the referee. This was just one more frustration for an already frustrated club, but it did provide Jose Mourinho with a chance to try and prove his recent point about Arsene Wenger getting away with things that he doesn’t.
Manuel Neuer makes superhuman save against Arsenal
Even when you manage to prevent Robert Lewandowski from scoring for an entire half hour, you still have to get one past Manuel Neuer to take a lead against Bayern Munich. Which is like asking someone to prevent all human suffering and then discover the meaning of life in order to win three points.
If Theo Walcott sues Neuer for doing this to him, he’d probably win a sizable compensation. Walcott can be thankful that at least he didn’t get reduced to a pile of dust like Douglas Costa did to Hector Bellerin…
Arsenal bring questionable desire for fourth place to Champions League group stage
Arsene Wenger has taken his longstanding insistence that finishing fourth is like winning a trophy to a new level by losing each of Arsenal’s first two Champions League group stage matches of the season, putting them last in Group F.
Jose Mourinho would like to make his point about Arsene Wenger being awful again
It’s been a rough week for Arsene Wenger. Though he did get a big midweek win against Spurs in the Capital One Cup, it only came after he lost to Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea yet again last weekend, which was quickly followed by reports of he and his wife getting divorced. So Mourinho has decided to round it out by giving Wenger a familiar kick for not being down enough.
Arsenal fans did some unwanted redecorating at White Hart Lane
As if having Mathieu Flamini score a brace to beat you 2-1 in the Capital One Cup (FLAMINI! A BRACE!) and getting Wayne Gretzky’s name wrong wasn’t bad enough, Spurs had the added displeasure of having the signage around White Hart Lane torn down by the visiting supporters.
You’re dumb, fight me by Diego Costa
You’re dumb. And because you’re dumb, you’re going to fight me for saying that you’re dumb and then you’re the one who is going to get in trouble for fighting because that’s how dumb you are.
Santi Cazorla reveals that Nacho Monreal is Arsenal’s new Nicklas Bendtner
When Nicklas Bendtner finally left Arsenal last year, it left a void in the club. Who would the other players make fun of? We now know the answer is Nacho Monreal.
Arsenal players photobomb unsuspecting fans over and over again
Proving Roy Keane wrong when he said that Arsenal players were only interested in selfies, the video above shows that they’re also interested in appearing in other people’s photos too.
As part of the club’s kit launch, pictures of fans wearing their new gear were taken, but what they didn’t know was that a group of their favorite players were hiding behind them, ready to jump out and pose as the photos were being taken.
They did this over and over again, and the players appeared to genuinely enjoy themselves as they did it. Perhaps none more than Olivier Giroud and Petr Cech.
The fans’ surprise upon realizing what was going on is pretty special.

It took 14 tries, but Arsene Wenger finally beat Jose Mourinho, albeit in the Community Shield by a score of 1-0. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain gave Arsenal the lead in the 24th minute and Wenger then beat Mourinho with his own game plan by parking the bus for the remainder of the match while Petr Cech made several fine saves to retain a clean sheet against his former club.
After Chelsea collected their runners-up medals, Mourinho, who came to Wembley dressed for a training session at a high school while Wenger opted for a more formal look, waited at the bottom of the steps for the Arsenal players. Read more
