If anything, Frank Lampard might be too good for MLS
At the start of the season, fans eager to stamp out MLS’s “retirement league” tag and impatient writers desperate for pageviews dubbed Frank Lampard the league’s worst ever signing. Now, after a loan (that wasn’t really a loan at all) to Man City and a nagging calf injury that has limited his time in MLS since being unveiled by New York City FC in 2014, Lampard has scored eight goals in his last seven matches, including the first hat trick in his club’s brief history.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic scores first Man United goal two days after first training session

Three minutes and 11 seconds into his Man United debut and just two days after he began training with the club, Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored an acrobatic goal in a friendly against Galatasaray in his native Sweden. A rather perfect debut for Zlatan, but why would you expect anything else?
Zlatan only played the first 45 minutes against Gala, not because of fitness concerns, but because it would’ve been unfair to subject them to a full 90 minutes of him in a friendly.
Will Ferrell takes penalties against Leicester’s Christian Fuchs

LAFC part-owner Will Ferrell visited with Leicester City during their summer tour of the U.S., giving him an opportunity to show some skills that would fit right in with the Italian national team.
Defender Christian Fuchs acted as goalkeeper against Ferrell’s penalty attempts. He didn’t have to do much on the first two, but on the third, Ferrell used the initial save as a distraction so he could throw a second ball into the open net.
A preview of what’s to come from LAFC, surely.

The transfer saga of the summer is Paul Pogba potential move back to Manchester United, which could bring a new world record fee, and he’s milking this spotlight for all its worth.
Barcelona play bubble football during training session
In a clever ploy to protect the other Barca players from Luis Suarez, the club decided to play a bit of bubble football during a training session at England’s national football center. The players seemed to enjoy slamming into each other and I’m pretty sure Leo Messi was able to fit his entire body inside his bubble. Good times.
Didier Drogba scores against Arsenal even after moving to MLS
During his time with Chelsea, Didier Drogba scored 13 goals in 15 appearances against Arsenal. So when he ended his second stint with the Blues and moved to a different continent, Arsenal likely thought they were finally free from his tyranny. They were wrong.
A definitive answer to whether Gonzalo Higuain and every other player is worth their transfer fee
Juventus paid €90 million for Gonzalo Higuain — the 28-year-old destroyer of Lionel Messi’s dreams and Serie A’s top scorer last season. This is a lot of money for any player, let alone one who is closing in on 30 years old. And so it has prompted the indignant question raised every time there is a transfer fee larger than what is currently accepted to be within the always rising range of normality: Is he worth it?
The second leg of the Copa Libertadores final started with a spectacular fireworks display
Colombia’s Atletico Nacional beat Ecuadorian underdogs Independiente del Valle 1-0 in the second leg of the Copa Libertadores final to win the competition for the first time since the Pablo Escobar funded days of 1989. But before the match even began, there was a celebratory atmosphere and the stands were lit up like the world’s largest firefly orgy.
Shirtless Cristiano Ronaldo wants you to buy his new CR7 blankets
When you hate wearing a shirt as much as Cristiano Ronaldo does, you’re bound to get cold sooner or later. So to alleviate that problem, Cristiano now has his own line of blankets. And if the video/sextape intro above is any indication, he’s a fan of them.
There are a variety of colors and designs, but I think this one would look best in your home…
