Everton’s Tom Davies gets driven to training by his mother every day
And no, it’s not because he’s had his license revoked
Still just 18 years old, midfielder Tom Davies is establishing himself as a regular in Everton’s squad. He scored the first goal of his young career in January, helping him earn the PFA Fan’s Premier League Player of the Month award. And yet, his mother still drives him to training each day.
Davies discussed this fact with Tubes from Sky Sports. As would be expected from a group of grown men who drive cars worth more than most people’s houses, his teammates apparently rib him about this fact, but Davies is unfazed by it.
“I don’t see nothing wrong with it,” he says with a smile.

Remember this when he’s starting for England in a couple years and parking his camouflage-print Bugatti on the steps of a nightclub.
Everton awards dinner falls victim to Roberto Martinez’s sacking

Everton’s 3-0 loss to a Sunderland side desperate to preserve their Premier League future proved to be the last straw for the Toffees, prompting them to sack manager Roberto Martinez the following day. Coincidentally, this also happened to be the day for which the club’s end of season awards celebration was scheduled. But since a 3-0 loss to Sunderland and sacking your manager after weeks of fan protests pushing for that decision make for a difficult lead-in to a party, the event was postponed mere hours before it was set to begin.

Anfield Cat’s cousin invades Everton FA Cup match
In 2012, there was Anfield cat: a feline that rose to international fame by invading the pitch during a Premier League match between Liverpool and Spurs. It happened again at Anfield in 2014 (and previously way back in 1964), but now we have evidence that there is also an Everton following amongst the cats of Merseyside, as well.
During Everton’s FA Cup third round match against Dagenham and Redbridge, a cat invaded the pitch and evaded Everton keeper Joel Robles’ attempt to capture it.
Muhamed Besic’s hamstring joins campaign against Chelsea
Chelsea were all set to win at Everton and get their season on track after the international break. For nine minutes, the Toffees were completely shut down by Chelsea. Had it gone on for just a bit longer, they probably would have quit and handed Chelsea the three points just to avoid further frustration.
But then, in that moment of desperation, Muhamed Besic conveniently “injured his hamstring” and was replaced by Steven Naismith, a player nearly sold on transfer deadline day, who went on to score twice in five minutes and completed his hat trick in the second half. This gave Everton a shocking 3-1 win and Chelsea their third loss in five matches this season.
