Gerard Pique gives camera the finger during Spanish anthem
Gerard Pique has been an outspoken supporter of Catalan independence, which has prompted Spanish national team fans to frequently jeer their starting centerback in the run up to Euro 2016.
Pictures of footballers euphorically spraying themselves with cologne
It has come to my attention that footballers really enjoy spraying cologne on themselves. Usually it’s because it’s their own branded scent, but the act of spritzing it on themselves seems to elevate them to a state of absolute nirvana.
Thankfully, there are images that capture this rare moment of pure elation. The absolute best example is this one from Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent launch of his newest fragrance Legacy…

The second leg of Barcelona and Espanyol’s Copa del Rey derby was a heated one despite the Blaugrana building on their 4-1 lead from the first leg to advance on an aggregate score of 6-1.
Barcelona’s Troll Supreme, Gerard Pique, riled up their local rivals after the first leg by questioning their ability to fill their own stadium (“They call themselves the ‘marvelous minority’, and they’re in such a minority that they can’t even fill their ground. Let’s see whether they manage to fill it for the return leg, because the other day it wasn’t full.”). So Espanyol fans responded by continuing their inexcusable taunts about his family. Read more
Barcelona players dumped fake blood all over Getafe bathroom
Following Barcelona’s official apology for their costumed players interrupting a Getafe player’s post-match press conference on Halloween, it has now been revealed that they also dumped a bunch of red paint all over the dressing room bathroom, according to AS.
Of course, given Gerard Pique’s propensity to bleed, there’s a good chance it wasn’t all paint…
Gerard Pique controversy proves the hypocrisy in demand for loyalty and passion
A lot is made about how modern football has been ruined by mercenaries. The incredibly talented athletes we love to watch are supposedly just doing their jobs for the astronomical sums of money we conspire to afford them. It’s said that they have no passion for the game to which they’ve devoted their lives and sacrificed their futures and hold no loyalty to the employers who demonstrate the same or the fans who are all too eager to turn on them with the weather. This is reason enough to despise and admonish them every chance we get.
If only these footballers truly cared, we say. If only they demonstrated the same passion that we do. Then they would be doing it right.
But as the current fog of idiocy that has surrounded Gerard Pique demonstrates, that’s not true either. In the minds of too many fans and pundits, footballers must live up to impossible and illogical standards and are only allowed to be wrong.
Pepe’s open letter to Gerard Pique, urging him to calm down
Hey Gerard, it’s me, your old not friend Pepe. I know we don’t really talk much outside of insulting each other during El Clasicos, but I just wanted to ask: are you OK, man?

Shakira posted this video to Twitter as confirmation that living with Gerard Pique is exactly as dangerous as you think it is. But to be fair, nine out of the 10 times he does this, the ball probably bounces off the wall and smacks him in the face. In other words, Shakira probably has to deal with her husband’s self-inflicted bleeding a lot.
This has been the Dirty Tackle of the Day: a chronicling of unfortunate events.
Pique and Shakira’s son scores at the Camp Nou
Gerard Pique and Shakira’s oldest son, Milan, auditioned for a spot in La Masia after Barca’s final La Liga match of the season. Shakira filmed as Milan dribbled through the confetti strewn pitch and buried a shot as his father looked on.

This is apparently “Look At All The Cool Stuff I Have!” Week for professional footballers on social media. It started with Gerard Pique showing a portion of his shirt collection while cleaning out his closet. The first group of neatly arranged shirts showed that Pique has an eye for the superstars when swapping shirts after matches, as it contained the likes of Francesco Totti, David Beckham, and Ronaldinho.
