No one enjoyed the Capital One Cup final more than Jose Mourinho

It’s been two years and 10 months since Jose Mourinho last won a non-Super Cup trophy and though this period would simply be known as “June 2012-February 2015” for most managers, it’s been a personal worst for Mourinho. But the Capital One Cup final against Spurs offered him the chance to end the talk of him losing his silver touch. And he made the most of it in every way possible.

Jose Mourinho’s Burnley numerology REVEALED!

“My assessment is simple. Four moments of the game: minute 30, minute 33, minute 43, and minute 69. If a person at home didn’t watch the game and wants to know what the game was, instead of being in front of the screen for 90 minutes, go just to those four moments — minutes 30, 33, 43, and 69 and you’ll know the story of the game.”

That’s all Jose Mourinho would say after Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Burnley at Stamford Bridge. On the surface, it sounds like he’s pointing out the four moments where the referee failed to make calls that prevented Chelsea from winning and doing so in a way that might not earn him yet another fine from the FA. But there’s far more to it than that.

Group of Chelsea fans, Arrigo Sacchi destroy the absurd fantasy that there’s no racism in football

It can be far too easy for people who aren’t directly affected by racism to dismiss it as a thing of the past. Over the last few years, both FIFA president Sepp Blatter and Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho have both denied the existence of racism in various aspects of football. But, in quick succession, a group of Chelsea fans in Paris and former Italy manager Arrigo Sacchi have provided crystal clear reminders of just how incredibly wrong that notion is at every level.

David Luiz won’t celebrate if he scores against Chelsea, but he does call Mourinho and Blanc ugly

David Luiz is a man who likes to spread and express joy, but, sadly, he has chosen a profession where one man’s joy is too often interpreted as a personal insult to others. This is a result of the #RESPECT syndrome and football is currently being choked by its bitter self-importance.

Players are now expected to react as if they just watched the euthanization of their childhood pet when they score against their former club in order to satisfy the delicate sensibilities of far too many supporters and members of the press. So when David Luiz was asked what he would do if he scores against his old club when PSG face Chelsea in the Champions League round of 16, there was only one answer he was allowed to give.

Conspiracy Theory: Opposing teams actively trying to beat Chelsea

Thanks to Jose Mourinho’s bold commitment to exposing the truth, we have already established that ball boys are conspiring against Chelsea. And after last weekend’s controversy in which Cesc Fabregas was booked for diving when he should have been awarded a decisive penalty in Chelsea’s 1-1 draw at Southampton, he has now revealed that the club’s list of enemies extends far beyond a few snot-nosed kids with complete, unchecked control of the flow of balls onto the pitch.

West Ham’s Twitter account trolls Jose Mourinho with “19th century football” photoshop

When Jose “I’ll park the bus whenever I want” Mourinho described West Ham’s performance in last season’s 0-0 draw at Stamford Bridge last season as “19th century football,” it made people’s heads cave in under the weight of the hypocrisy.

Jose Mourinho laughs about Mario Balotelli’s reason for once missing a meeting with him

Jose Mourinho and Mario Balotelli had their run-ins during their time at Inter and though their relationship suffered for it at the time, it seems that Mourinho can laugh about it now that they’ve gone their separate ways.

In an interview with BT Sport’s Clare Balding, Mourinho tells the story of how Balotelli once skipped a meeting between the two of them so he could attend a Formula 1 event. Mario’s reason for doing this? According to Mourinho, Balotelli told him, “Meetings in your office I can have every day, but Formula 1 is only in Italy once a year.”

Well played, Mario. Well played.
