Everything goes wrong for Chelsea in first half against West Ham

Look at that! That’s how close Chelsea were to an equalizer after West Ham opened the scoring in the 17th minute. Amazingly, things only got much, much worse for the struggling Premier League champions after this.

Cesc Fabregas then had a goal disallowed for being offside and Nemanja Matic was sent off after his second yellow just before halftime. In the frustration of all of this, Diego Costa and Fabregas were also shown yellows for dissent, while Jose Mourinho (who was already on a suspended one-match ban for his comments about the referee after Chelsea’s loss to Southampton  and assistant coach Silvino Louro were sent off.

Jose Mourinho appears to have entered the “final scene of Scarface” portion of his second stint with Chelsea after yet another loss, this time going down 3-1 at home to Southampton. After the match, he worked a medley of his greatest hits into a lengthy response to his interviewer’s one and only question to him.

Claudio Ranieri offers to buy pizza for his players if they keep a clean sheet

Leicester City are off to a surprising undefeated start, second only to Man City in the Premier League, thanks to new manager Claudio Ranieri. Though it’s difficult to find negatives about their five league matches of the season, one area where they could improve is defensively, having allowed seven goals — more than any other club in the top half of the table except for Norwich.

So to try and motivate his players to concede fewer goals, Ranieri has offered an incentive: free pizza.

Tim Sherwood does magic spell to make his two-goal lead disappear

With his side up 2-0 in the second half against undefeated Leicester City, Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood attempted some kind of magic spell on the touchline (his version of a tactical adjustment) to prevent the home side from making a comeback. Except it totally backfired and Leicester ended up winning 3-2 with a trio of unanswered goals in the final 20 minutes of play.

Kelechi Iheanacho: Man City’s low-priced match winner

After a summer in which Man City signed Kevin De Bruyne for £54 million, Raheem Sterling for £44 million, and even Patrick Roberts for £12 million, it was 18-year-old Kelechi Iheanacho, called up after a season in City’s youth setup, who scored the 90th-minute winner against Crystal Palace.
