Juventus pay for fan to get tattoo of new logo after he got the old one just before the change

I’m not convinced this makes the situation better

Juventus’ soulless new logo didn’t get the best reception when it was unveiled back in January, but one fan had reason to hate it more than everyone else. You see, about a week before Juventus unveiled the new logo, the shirtless man pictured above got a tattoo of the old crest on his back.

This should’ve been enough to turn him into a Torino supporter on the spot, but he was apparently willing to let Juve tattoo their new logo on his arm. The offer of a free tattoo was extended to two other fans who have the old crest on their bodies, as well.

No one seemed too thrilled with the results.

“Is this it? It’s done? You’re sure?”

That’s a guy who promised himself he’d never turn down a free tattoo, but when he saw what they’d be putting on him, he said, “Do it here, on my upper thigh, where no one will ever see it.”

I feel bad for everyone involved in this.

The Philadelphia Union are hiring a “Chief Tattoo Officer”

Streamlining the employee tattoo process: An under-appreciated key to success in MLS

When the official MLS store’s temporary tattoos just won’t cut it…

Are you a Philadelphia-area tattoo artist who enjoys doing snake designs and needs an executive title to impressive your parents? Well the Philadelphia Union have a position for you!

The MLS club is now seeking a “Chief Tattoo Officer” to handling all the tattooing needs of their players and staff. This is an actual listing on the league’s official jobs site.

The Union are requiring applicants have at least five years experience, possess a “diverse skillset as needed by clientele including American Traditional, Realism, Japanese and more,” and “must enjoy tattooing snake designs (after all, we have a snake in our crest).”

One wonders if Union players and staff really are demanding so many tattoos that an in-house artist is needed (and how many are getting club specific tattoos?) or if this is just a ploy to get some free press. After all, the job listing also states that the CTO would serve as a “team ambassador” and “respond to press/media requests to talk about the CTO experience with the Union.” If that’s underlying idea here, well played, Union. This is definitely going to get some attention.

Uruguay’s Abel Hernandez has a tattoo of Brazilian Ronaldo’s face on his leg

No, not you, Cristiano

(Hull City)

Hull City striker and Uruguay international Abel Hernandez has given Ronaldo (the Brazilian one) the highest honor a footballer can give another footballer by tattooing the legendary striker’s face on his leg. OK, so maybe the highest honor would be getting Ronaldo’s face tattooed on his face, but the leg is pretty good too. I guess.

The tattoo was spotted during Hull’s EPL Cup semifinal against Man United and it’s somewhat surprising given that Hernandez is Uruguayan and Ronaldo is Brazilian—neighboring nations that have a long-standing rivalry on the pitch. But Ronaldo’s greatness transcends geographical borders. Just as Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Anyway, this will probably inspire Cristiano Ronaldo to start asking his teammates when they’re going to get his face tattooed on their bodies.

Sergio Ramos is turning into a walking Wikipedia page

The Real Madrid captain’s tattoos are getting…out of hand

(Sergio Ramos/Instagram)

People get tattoos for many different reasons, but Sergio Ramos’ motivation seems to be preparation for a day when his Wikipedia page isn’t readily available. The latest ink for the Real Madrid captain with a knack for scoring late goals is a series of red numbers across his knuckles (side note: the other symbols on his fingers appear to indicate that he is, in fact, the Zodiac killer).

Ramos’ Instagram post asks his fans to guess what the numbers mean and the code was quickly cracked.

The 35 and 32 were his shirt numbers at Sevilla, where he began his career, the 90+ is a reference to his late equalizer in the 2014 Champions League final, where Real Madrid went on to win La Decima, and 19 is how old he was when he made his Spain debut.

The numbers join the Champions League and World Cup trophies he has tattooed on his calves as his increasingly comprehensive career history body art.

It’s not all boring old facts Ramos is permanently affixing to his skin, though. Since every good bio needs a bit of personal color, he also has a Michael Jackson tattoo.

Now all he needs is a tattoo marking his record number of red cards and he’ll be set.
