More than 12,000 fans came to see Nani unveiled as Valencia’s latest signing, so the Portuguese winger treated them all to a rather impressive demonstration of the Brazilian martial art Capoeira. And now taekwando black belt Zlatan Ibrahimovic is likely saying “Why didn’t I think of that?!?!?” and calling for a do-over of his recent Man United unveiling.

Phil Neville: Assistant to disaster
Gary Neville has been sacked by Valencia after just 120 days on the job. Naturally, he has received criticism for his embarrassingly brief reign — both from Valencia fans and his former colleagues in the media — but one man has largely flown under the radar in all this. And that man is Gary’s brother and assistant at Valencia, Phil Neville. The black widow of football management.
Barcelona fans gave rousing ovation to player who got Real Madrid booted from Copa del Rey
When we last saw Denis Cheryshev, he was being hastily substituted at halftime of Real Madrid’s Copa del Rey round of 32 first-leg match against Cadiz once everyone realized that he was ineligible to play due to a suspension he incurred the year before with Villarreal. That got Real Madrid disqualified from the competition, delighting rival fans (and clubs) everywhere.
In an attempt to hide the embodiment of this embarrassment, Real Madrid loaned Cheryshev to Valencia, giving him another crack at the Copa del Rey as his new side had to face Barcelona in the semifinals of the competition.
Cheryshev came off the bench in the 58th minute of the first leg and Valencia ended up losing 7-0 with the Russian being shown a yellow card in the 79th minute. So, all together, this Copa del Rey appearance was even worse than his last one (at least he scored in the last one).
And to make the whole thing even worse, the Barcelona fans gave him a rousing mock ovation when he came on, as thanks for the shame he brought upon Real Madrid.
As of this moment, no one on the planet hates the Copa del Rey more than Denis Cheryshev.
Gary Neville can’t pass up chance to boss around his little brother at Valencia
Sky Sports pundit and assistant manager of the England national team Gary Neville has accepted the position of Valencia manager, an unexpected move that suddenly puts him in an official position of power over younger brother Phil, who joined the Spanish club as an assistant last summer. It is immediately clear that Gary’s primary reason for taking this job is so he can tell Phil what to do.
Valencia official stops muslim player from removing beer sponsor’s bottle from press conference
Commerce is the only religion that modern football has room for and Valencia defender Shkodran Mustafi found that out upon arriving for a press conference.
When Mustafi, who is muslim, saw that a bottle of beer had been set in front of where he would be sitting for product placement purposes, he moved it aside as a club employee adjusted the microphone. Mustafi told the man that he didn’t want the beer in front of him since his religion prohibits him from posing with alcoholic beverages. But instead of saying “Oh, ok, that’s totally understandable,” the guy picked up the beer and put it back in its original place.
Mustafi then expressed his disgust and shook his head.
And that’s what happens when a player asks their club to put him ahead of a sponsor.
