Slaven Bilic sent to stands for spiking pitchside microphone
SLAVEN SMASH
It’s been a frustrating season for Slaven Bilic and West Ham, and when West Brom scored an equalizer against them deep into added time, Bilic released his fury by slamming a television microphone into the ground. This earned him a sending off.
The Hammers recovered from conceding in just the sixth minute, scoring twice in the second half to take a 2–1 lead on a Manuel Lanzini goal in the 86th minute that looked to be a winner. But Jonny Evans snatched a point back for the Baggies by scoring in the fourth minute of added time. This prompted Bilic to Hulk out on the microphone.
If the Football Association felt that Jose Mourinho could have “endangered people” by kicking a water bottle back in December, they might try to charge Bilic with attempted murder for this.
“The Post” wins man of the match for West Ham
It’s been that kind of season for the Hammers
A 76th-minute penalty from Mark Noble gave West Ham a 1–0 win over Hull City, but according to West Ham supporters, the man of the match wasn’t Noble or any other human being. It was The Post.
From West Ham’s official website:
Prior to their visit to east London, Hull had hit the woodwork three times in 16 matches. On Saturday, they doubled that tally in 90 minutes.
It’s been a difficult season for The Post, with the Hammers’ move to London Stadium, but it’s finding its form at a good time. Now West Ham just have to hope that it doesn’t put in a transfer request when the window opens in January. Rumor has it Man City might put in a bid.
Adrian kicks Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the knee, Zlatan gets his revenge with goals
Dirty Tackle of the Day
If there was a giant hornet’s nest coming straight for you at 100 mph, would you stick your foot in it? No. If you are a sane person, you would get out of its way and be thankful that you narrowly avoided disaster.
Well, West Ham goalkeeper Adrian is not a sane person. With the giant hornet’s nest that is Zlatan Ibrahimovic coming at him, he planted his studs right in Zlatan’s kneecap like a person who does not value their life whatsoever.
Zlatan still scored, because of course he did, and Adrian was lucky not to get sent off—or seriously injure Zlatan.

But did Zlatan grind Adrian into a fine powder and sprinkle him atop a latte right then and there? No. While Zlatan is most definitely a vengeful god, he is also a patient one. He waits for the right moment to strike in order to inflict maximum devastation. This is what he did to Adrian.
With Man United up 3–1 deep into injury time, Zlatan scored his second goal of the night, then stood over Adrian’s downed carcass with his arms held aloft, reveling in the crowd’s adulation that stung Adrian all over like a thousand hornets.
And that, my friends is why you never plant your foot in Zlatan’s knee.
This has been the Dirty Tackle of the Day: a chronicling of unfortunate events.
Michail Antonio drove two hours after a match to deliver a signed shirt to charity event on time
After playing the entirety of West Ham’s 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough, the last thing Michail Antonio probably wanted to do was get in the car and drive two hours from London to Birmingham. But when he realized he had promised a signed shirt to a charity event there and it was too late to send it, he made the drive to hand deliver the shirt and keep his word.

West Ham say goodbye to Upton Park with taxi cabs and fireworks
It may have gotten off to a proper naughty start, but West Ham’s farewell to Upton Park ended well by coming back from 2-1 down to beat Man United 3-2. The result brought manager Slaven Bilic to tears, but the post-match farewell ceremony was more odd than emotional.
