Meanwhile, in the wilderness of Sweden…

In search of #adrenaline.

As most footballers (outside of England) enjoy a relaxing winter break, Zlatan Ibrahimovic searches the snow covered wilderness of Sweden for the fuel that keeps him at the peak of his formidable strength: adrenaline.

Like a shark, he cannot stop moving. Always hunting, whether it be on the pitch or on a snowmobile.

Consider this a reminder that Zlatan is always out there. Ready to pounce. He does not rest.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s expert analysis of the Euro 2016 draw

The Champions League round of 16 draw was boring and put PSG with Chelsea again, so I will provide my expert Zlanalysis of the Euro 2016 draw instead.

Every time there is a draw for a major tournament, there is only one thing people want to talk about: which group is the most difficult. There is even a name given to the group that is the toughest and most feared. But now this group has a new name. The Group of Zlatan.

Zlatan makes supremely Zlatan return to Malmo

It’s been a date Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been looking forward to since the Champions League draw was made, and really for the last 14 years — playing against his first club, Malmo FF, in his hometown of Malmo. Zlatan spoke of the importance of the occasion to him and he booked the main square so everyone could watch.

But it wasn’t just Zlatan who was excited. The night before the match, the city’s tallest building had a giant, neon blue Z at the top of it and a local sponsor put up posters of Zlatan to welcome him home.

Zlatan explains the importance of Malmo FF to him in brilliant short film

Zlatan Ibrahimovic began his career with his hometown club, Malmo FF. He left the club 14 years ago, but now, for the first time, he will return as the opposition when PSG face them in the Champions League next week.

In the short film above, which was produced by Malmo, Zlatan explains what the club, the city, and this opportunity means to him. The genuine passion, joy, and excitement makes it a great watch.

In the video, he also reiterates his plan to show the match in the city’s main square so everyone can watch it together and for free. It’s just fun to see a player so emotionally invested in a specific match.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic helped a group of police officers take a selfie with him

As the Swedish national team arrived back at their hotel after Zlatan Ibrahimovic claimed their place in Euro 2016 and retired all of Denmark, one of the police officers stationed outside the door decided that vigilance and professionalism are nowhere near as important as getting a selfie with Zlatan. A decision all of us can agree is the correct one.

So he asked. And being the generous deity that he is, Zlatan stopped and leaned in for the photo while the three officers there eagerly huddled together to get in the shot. Seeing this happening without her, another officer came running over to squeeze in.

Now with five people trying to fit in the frame, the officer holding the phone couldn’t hold it far enough away to make it work. Seeing his mortal struggle, Zlatan then took the phone and used his longer, more powerful arm to get the job done.

Praise Zlatan and his infinite generosity.

Zlatan is taking credit for “putting France on the map”

Fresh off winning his 10th Swedish Golden Ball, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is apparently feeling even more enamored with himself than usual. Ahead of Sweden’s Euro 2016 qualification playoff against Denmark, the PSG striker declared that the tournament’s host nation would be nothing without him.

From the BBC:

“I would love to play at the European Championship in France,” said Ibrahimovic.

“I have played there for four years. I have put Sweden on the world map and now I have put France on the world map too.”

Just to be clear, France is a nation that won the World Cup (a trophy Zlatan has never won), won two European Championships (a trophy Zlatan has never won), and a French club won the Champions League (a trophy Zlatan has never won), all before Zlatan arrived in France in 2012.

Granted, Zlatan did bring renewed international interest in French football after Ligue 1 had fallen behind a bit and the French national team became a laughing stock at the 2010 World Cup, but to say he put France on the world map is just, well, about what you would expect from Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

It’s only a matter of time before he takes credit for croissants and the works of Marcel Proust.

Zlatan awarded gold record for his version of the Swedish national anthem

As if you needed anymore proof that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the true king of Sweden, on the same day he scored the opening goal in their Euro qualifier against Moldova, he was awarded a gold record for a version of Sweden’s national anthem he recorded as part of a Volvo commercial.

Zlatan’s rendition of the anthem has been streamed more than three million times in Sweden, earning him the award, and, according to Zlatan, the record for the most streamed national anthem ever.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic ensures that all of Malmö can watch his homecoming

We know that Zlatan is a vengeful god, but he is benevolent too. When PSG drew Malmö, his first club and hometown team, he said it was a “dream.”

“Too bad that all of Malmö won’t fit in the stadium,” he added after the draw three weeks ago. Well, he’s done his best to make alternate accommodations.

On his social media accounts, Zlatan announced that he has booked the Main Square in Malmö on November 25 when PSG visit for the two clubs’ second Champions League meeting (PSG won 2-0 in Paris already). The match will be shown for everyone who can’t fit in the stadium, so there will be no excuse for anyone to miss Zlatan’s triumphant return.

Zlatan also promised more surprises for the day, which probably means that there will be Pep Guardiola piñatas filled with bottles of Zlatan’s new cologne strung up around town.
